Instead, all R* needs to do is program RDR1's missions into RDR2 with the dialogue (that may have to get re-recorded), redo the cutscenes, bring over any missing character models not already implemented in online, upgrade some of RDR1's locations, and finish Mexico. Hell, I'd argue that it's a lot easier than people think since they won't even need to really port over the actual game. They'd just add the missions and stranger missions from RDR, re-record some of the old audio using the new VAs, and add some more dialogue and missions. Also since this is DLC, it means they don't need to rebuild the entire map and terrain and can just stick with RDR2's game, just finishing up Mexico. They obviously can't offer you homes like before since it'll use the RDR2 engine, but they can add a lot of older weapons and new challenges. You'd still do the missions like before, but now, it'll just be for story purposes (like getting the horse). It would also avoid setting up the tutorial. Money will be cut by a decent amount since this will have taken place a year after the epilogue, so it would make sense your money will be drying up. Now, the main differences here is that you'll start off having access to your weapons. You board the ferry with Edger Ross, fade to black, then starts RDR. You first find Uncle, tell him to return, then go to San Deny where you are told what happened and how you must now hunt down the rest of the gang and bring them to justice. As you begin looking, you find Pincertins who tell you what happened and to go to San Deny. When you return, you find Jack and Abigail are missing and Uncle is probably off drinking. What can happen is after you're done with the epilogue quests, they can initiate a new quest that takes John somewhere (maybe back north to help someone from Arther's past). I agree and think it should be remade as a dlc that essentially continues on after RDR2's epilogue.
